Assembling a Life: Claiming the Artist In My Father (and Myself) Book Cover, Martha Clark Scala

At last!

Assembling a Life: Claiming the Artist in My Father (and Myself) is available now.

If you have any desire to honor a departed loved one by exploring the past to tell their story, you’ll want to find out more about this colorful and poignant memoir.

What happens when you take joy for granted, and then it disappears? That was my personal riddle.

Grief-stricken after the deaths of my brother and father, a helpful phrase popped into my head: Invest in bringing joy back to your life. The directive is still relevant today.

I bring joy back to my life by writing poetry, memoir, and a monthly blog, Out on a Limb. When words are scarce, I take photographs, assemble collages, and create videos. I hope my writing and visual art inspire you to live by this motto, too.
